Most of our knowledge is based on the foundation of so called myths and self proclaimed tips and tricks. One of which is children should not be allowed to walk bare foot. Their feet are sensitive so they'll develop cuts and furthermore infection. In my opinion and career practice I've known that balancing in children is developed and improved by walking on bare foot on uneven surfaces, sand, grass etc. But ofcourse keeping in mind the safety aspects.
