TIPS AND TRICKS FOR TEACHERS

Quite often we recommend office people to get their chairs and walk. However for teachers who move from one classroom to another and spend long hours standing, it is very important for them to sit down and rest their legs.

Statistics:-

  • 73% of teachers experience neck and shoulder pain.
  • 53% experience knee problems.
  • 33% have complications of the hip joint.
  • 82% complain of musculoskeletal disorders at least once a week.
Long hours of standing and constantly on the go demand a whole lot of toll on the muscles and joints thereby resulting in sprains and strains which often goes unnoticed under the pretext of maybe because of tiredness or stress, maybe I'm aging and so on and so forth.
Looking at it from a physiotherapist's point of view, aging need not demand you to get non functional. If tiredness is showing up every now and then and for prolonged duration then its got to be something more deeper, more serious.

Some of the signs which indicate that your body needs attention
  • Frequent muscular pains
  • Muscle fatigue
  • Swelling of legs
  • Frequent cramps
  • Varicosity of veins
  • Degenerative diseases (OA)
  • Pain in the soles of the feet
  • Low back pain.
  • Radiating pain in the legs or glutes
  • Feeling of tightness on the outer part of the leg (area adjacent to shin)
  •  Frequent headaches (back of the head)
  • Tiredness in shoulders.
